Press Releases (Aug 22, 09)World Leaders & Celebrities Asked To Unite For Native Humanity HOLLYWOOD, CA - Aug 22, 2009 Billed as the largest event in Hollywood and Native American history, the planned Celebrity Festival for Native America announced its guest list to include over 100 heads of state and world dignitaries, including Presidents Obama, Bush 1&2, and Clinton. Leaders from countries such as South Africa, China, Russia, Peru, Saudi Arabia, Japan, across Europe and more are being asked to celebrate support for ending racism and discrimination for Native people of the globe in a remarkable humanitarian first in world social leadership, giving the project a unique yet complimentary international audience appeal. “We believe every country on the planet has a history of discrimination against Native people and it’s time world leaders face it with a gesture of globally united humanitarian support that demonstrates to humankind there is a better future ahead for the world—respect and equality are for us all,” said Zelan Bonn, president of Kon Ticci International, the nonprofit hosting the event. The week long equality awareness and family fun event is expected to draw over 1 million fans and tourists to Hollywood, as well as play to 100+ million global television audiences next year. The official starting date has not been set due to network scheduling decisions. “We’re asking for three hours of donated time from top celebrities and in exchange giving them tickets to the show of the century and after party where they can rub elbows with world leaders,” said Bonn. “And world leaders get to meet humanitarian celebrities—win-for-all cool!” he said. Projecting a multi-million dollar boost to the local economy along with hundreds of entertainment and other jobs, organizers have sought government and local business community assistance. Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce were among those solicited to join in building key community and industry supports. Studio, network, talent agency and other entertainment leaders along with over 270 major film and television celebrities were also asked to lend project expertise and humanitarian assistance. “This project benefits community, entertainment industry, economy, Native Americans and humanity all at once,” said Bonn. “If we all pitch in, we all reap benefits,” he said. “This is a serious cause wrapped up in serious and glamorous fun for all,” he said.
