Ticci Man Project - Nonprofit

Native American Housing

Of the 2 million Native Americans living in the US, as many as 300,000 have been reported homeless!

Hundreds of tribal elders freeze to death every year on reservations because they lack livable housing. It's almost never reported in the mainstream news---and you wonder why we are raising the issue of discrimination and racism in the media---yeah, right!!

Watch nonprofit Red Feather build a straw-bail house for Indians - narrated by our admired hero, Robert Redford: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8Vszk6790k

Not only is the Ticci Man Project drawing attention to this issue, but we are supporting efforts to fund future homes for those in need in Native America with our charity event proceeds.

*Terminology

We use the term Native People (NP) in the purely anthropological sense to denote "aboriginal people of the world,  which includes a wide variety of self-descriptive nomenclatures, including Canada's First Nations People, Native Americans, and many others of the American continents and Pacific Island groups and places of the world. When more specific descriptions are used, they will include current country of origin or commonly known tribal names (i.e. Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, Dine, etc.).
