Ticci Man Project - Nonprofit Native Media And Film Access And Scholarship ProgramThere is a shortage of American Indians in mainstream media, whether in front of, or behind the camera---we want to help change that. One component of the Ticci Man Project is the scholarship fund to benefit Native peoples of the US and Canada. Applicants will enjoy full training and living assistance, including working on major films or shows as part of the comprehensive access and learning program. The other aspect is our assistance in promoting the use of American Indian talent in modern film and series. The goal is to open up opportunities for NAs in the mainstream media and film industry toward giving them a greater voice and avenue of expression. TMP will be partnering up with one existing foundation to help administer this important project.
*Terminology We use the term Native People (NP) in the purely anthropological sense to denote "aboriginal people of the world, which includes a wide variety of self-descriptive nomenclatures, including Canada's First Nations People, Native Americans, and many others of the American continents and Pacific Island groups and places of the world. When more specific descriptions are used, they will include current country of origin or commonly known tribal names (i.e. Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, Dine, etc.).
