Ticci Man Project

Nonprofit Overview

{see also, Kon Ticci International for more information}

This project offers the rare ability to cross into several worlds. It begins in the world of commercial  filmmaking and television entertainment designed to be fun, entertaining, and attractive to large audiences.

The series also offers the ability to offer a thematic or dramatic balance exploring modern  Native American issues and cultural aspects.

The series content bridges into areas of cultural rejuvenation and social transformation by acting as a national awareness building tool for Indian issues---issues such as the need for Indian culture and language preservation, major political aspects, government abuse and discrimination, economic and health access disparities, racism, environmental destruction and pollution, religious persecution, and more.

This project is meant to be a launching pad for many other like projects to come--projects that forge equal access, rights, and opportunities for Native cultures and people like never before.

The days of secrecy and so called hidden native cultures have long past and we seek to bridge the gap between fiction and truth and provide accurate portrayals that elevate and honestly represent today's modern Native peoples and their distinct needs and issues.

Helping The World Native...

In Latin countries south of the US border, as well as North America and the Pacific Island groups, Native people are often still treated as third class citizens. It's time they all come together and speak out, educate the masses as to the beauty and wonder of their collective cultures, and begin the healing that demands all people from all walks of life be treated as equals. This project is for them as well!

Traveling Native Learning Center and Memorabilia Store will bring native people's culture, arts, crafts, and related products as well as Ticci Man memorabilia target for the whole family. Traditional as well as modern Native dance groups and entertainers will join the caravan to bring whole family fun to tribal lands and Native owned business across the US and Canada.

International Native Cultural Center and Museum support will help ensure that future generations can enjoy the richness of world Native people's cultures with particular focus on tribes of North America.

Native Peoples Media & Film Scholarship Program will offer great opportunities for Native peoples of the US and Canada to enter into the film and media industry either from behind the scenes or as on screen talent, thereby assuring greater access and voice to Native peoples.

Key Highlights

The Tiki Man Project, with Native people assistance, seeks to offer:

  • A national media platform for exposing Indian rights and issues,
  • Creation of thousands of jobs over the life-time of the project (directly or indirectly),
  • Increased commerce and goodwill for NA businesses through cultural exposure and openness that fosters community-to-national level understanding and compassion for NAs.
  • Promotion of anti-stereotype Indian characters and positive role models, such as the first-ever Indian Superhero and other great character role models that children of all ages and walks of life (not just NAs) can look up to and admire.
  • A chance to give back to the greater NA community through support of this project----a chance to come together and heal old wounds.
  • Increased opportunity and penetration for Indians in the creative arts and national media.
  • Promotion of Native arts, culture, religion, values, language preservation and more----particularly to Native children (who are daily losing their cultural roots and identity).
  • Ground-swell of renewed pride, hope, beliefs and enthusiasm in the NA community.
  • And so much more!

*Terminology

We use the term Native People (NP) in the purely anthropological sense to denote "aboriginal people of the world,  which includes a wide variety of self-descriptive nomenclatures, including Canada's First Nations People, Native Americans, and many others of the American continents and Pacific Island groups and places of the world. When more specific descriptions are used, they will include current country of origin or commonly known tribal names (i.e. Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, Dine, etc.).
